Fleetview 360 degree Safety - Port of Tauranga Case Study

The Project

Port of Tauranga were looking for blind spot cameras for their straddle fleet. They sought a proven system which would work in their unique environment.

Viewtech and Fleetview had already supported a similar port, so Straddle Yard & Operations Supervisor, Gavin Collinson described Viewtech as “the obvious choice of partner”.

In consultation with Port of Tauranga’s Straddle Workshop Manager, the Viewtech team provided trial options of Fleetview. The trial gave Port of Tauranga great insights into their operations and they received excellent feedback from straddle operators.

After the trial, Viewtech cameras were installed across the entire fleet of straddles. Collinson says the Viewtech team have “been very helpful whenever we have needed support”.

Rolling out Fleetview across their straddles has increased safety in operations across the port. Straddle operators have said the blind spot cameras work well, making it safer to enter and exit roadways, especially when reversing.

Visibility when reversing under cranes has also improved, making it easier to see where the crane spreader is, and when it is safe to enter the operational zone under the crane.
