Once activated, the SPOT Gen4 acquires your exact location via GPS and transmits it via satellite to the appropriate responder network. It continuously sends this data every five minutes until the alert is cancelled or the battery is exhausted. The message is sent to the GEOS International Emergency Response Centre, which then contacts local emergency services, including:

• Police or Search & Rescue teams

• Coast Guard or Maritime authorities

• Your country’s embassy or consulate

• Your emergency contacts
