XRS Connect and XRS Location Services App Update

As part of GME's ongoing commitment to deliver new features for our XRS™ Connect UHF CB Radio platform, we are excited to announce enhancements to both the XRS™ Connect and Location Services Apps.

As a response to feedback received from XRS™ Connect users, numerous enhancements to the offline mapping functionality have been made to improve the user experience with new features such as offline map wire frames, distance within map markers and increased battery life.

Improvements:

  • Wire frames surrounding offline map areas to clearly define area
  • Distance of other XRS™ Connect users displayed within the map marker
  • Offline mode forces the app to use the offline maps reducing data usage
  • Option to only use GPS if the radio is connected reducing battery usage
  • Receive notification of radio transmissions when device screen is locked but connected to a radio
  • Device screen will now follow timeout settings if app is open with no radio connected reducing battery usage
  • Enhancements to Breadcrumbs to reduce a “Low Memory” error (Apple)
  • XRS™ Connect app updated for new Bluetooth® permissions (Apple)
  • Pairing / unpairing improvements (Android)
  • Bluetooth® discovery / pairing fix (Android 10)
  • XRS™ Connect and XRS™ Location Services now suitable for iOS Dark Mode
