What Does Starlink Installation Cost?
Installation cost is separate from the Starlink hardware and plan cost, and depends on a few genuine variables rather than a single flat rate: the mounting method needed for your roof, pole, or vehicle, how much cabling and networking work is involved, whether the site needs scaffolding or specialist access, and whether the install integrates with an existing radio, GPS, or network system.

Commercial Site Installations
A commercial installation carries a few considerations a residential one usually doesn't. If you're leasing the building, check with the landlord or body corporate before anything gets mounted on the roof or exterior, this is worth doing before installation day, not after. Some sites, particularly in town centres or heritage buildings, may also have council or resource consent considerations depending on what's being attached and where.
Beyond compliance, commercial sites often want the Starlink connection integrated into a broader setup, EFTPOS, security systems, existing two-way radio networks, or an office network with multiple access points. That's the kind of integration work a pure Starlink installer without a wider comms background typically can't offer.
Marine and Vehicle Installations
A dish that sits happily on a roof won't survive a moving vehicle or salt spray at sea. Marine installations need corrosion-resistant mounting and cabling rated for a wet, vibrating environment, the same standards we apply to marine VHF radio installs. Vehicle mounts need to hold securely at speed and account for the dish needing a clear view of the sky even while the vehicle is moving.
This is genuinely different work to a fixed residential or office install, and it's where a Starlink-only installer without marine or vehicle comms experience tends to struggle.
