- Commercial buildings: if you lease, check with the landlord or body corporate before anything is mounted. Some sites also have council considerations. We flag these at the site assessment rather than finding out after the dish is up.
- Integration: businesses often need Starlink tied into EFTPOS, security systems, office networks or an existing two-way radio setup. That is everyday work for us, not a sideline.
- Marine: vessels need corrosion-resistant mounting and cabling suited to a wet, vibrating environment, the same standard we apply to marine VHF installs.
- Vehicles: mounts need to hold at speed while keeping the dish's view of the sky clear on the move.
What does Starlink installation cost?
Installation is priced separately from the Starlink hardware and plan. The cost depends on the mount needed, how much cabling and network work is involved, site access, and any integration with existing systems, so there is no honest flat rate. Pairing Starlink with satellite voice for safety
We do not recommend relying on Starlink alone for a remote worksite. The smartest setup is hybrid: Starlink for primary high-speed data, paired with an Iridium or Inmarsat satellite phone as an independent emergency voice backup if the Starlink connection or power supply fails. Do you install Starlink outside the Bay of Plenty?
Our own technicians install across Tauranga, the Bay of Plenty, Coromandel, Rotorua, Taupō and Waikato. Elsewhere in NZ, we supply the hardware and arrange installation through our partner installer network.
Do I need permission to install Starlink on a commercial building?
If you lease the building, check with your landlord or body corporate before anything is mounted. Some sites may also have council considerations depending on the building. We raise this during the site assessment.
Will Starlink work on a moving vehicle or boat?
Yes, with the right mounting and hardware. We install Starlink on vehicles, marine vessels and fixed rural sites, matching the dish, mount and power setup to how and where you will actually use it.
Is Starlink better than cellular for a remote site?
It depends on your location. If you have reasonable cellular coverage already, a cellular solution like Cel-Fi is usually cheaper and simpler to run. Once you are outside reliable cell range, satellite becomes the only consistent option.
Do I need a clear view of the sky for Starlink to work?
Yes. Starlink needs a relatively unobstructed view of the sky to maintain a stable connection. Trees, buildings and hills can interrupt the signal, so we assess mounting position as part of every installation.
