Enquire About This ProductLicence-free Wi-Fi radios for sites that already have a network
The radio we supply: the Icom IP110H, Icom's current Wi-Fi radio. Already running older IP100H radios? The IP110H works alongside them on the same system, so you can add or replace radios without starting again.
Overview
Already paying for Wi-Fi across your warehouse, hotel or hospital? The Icom IP Advanced Radio System turns that network into a push-to-talk radio system, with no individual radio licence and no call charges.
IP110H handhelds connect through your Wi-Fi access points to an Icom controller, which manages individual, group and all-site calls. Coverage goes wherever your network goes, and sites linked by VPN can talk to each other as if they were in the same building.
We design, install and support these systems across the Bay of Plenty, and supply them NZ-wide. Every system is sized to your site, so it's quoted rather than sold off the shelf.
Key Features
- Runs on your existing Wi-Fi means no repeaters, no licence fees and no call charges for businesses that already have access points installed.
- Simultaneous TalkListen full duplex means staff can talk and listen at the same time, like a phone call, with or without a headset, for teams coordinating fast-moving jobs.
- Man down, lone worker and motion detection means an alert goes out if a worker falls or stops moving, for warehouse, plant and night-shift staff working on their own.
- IP67 dust and water rating, tested to MIL-STD-810G means the radio is protected against dust and temporary immersion, for staff moving between indoor and outdoor areas.
- More than 20 hours operating time with USB-C charging means a full shift on one charge, for teams working long rosters.
- 1000 mW internal speaker means calls can be heard over machinery and background noise, for factory floors and busy kitchens.
- Scalable across access points and sites means you can start with one building and add coverage or linked sites as you grow, for multi-site operators.
- WPA2 and WPA-Enterprise security means calls are encrypted across the network, for hospitals, security teams and anyone handling sensitive information.
Applications
We've supplied these systems to shopping mall operators and retailers, warehouse and distribution centre operators, and the tunnelling contractor on Auckland's City Rail Link.
- Warehouses and distribution centres
- Factories and processing plants
- Hotels, restaurants and hospitality venues
- Hospitals and aged care
- Shopping centres and retail
- Security teams
- Tunnelling and underground work, where coverage extends as access points are added
What's in the Box
- IP110H Wi-Fi radio
- Charger stand (BC-257)
- AC adaptor, NZ-compatible
- Belt clip (MBB-1)
- USB charging cable (OPC-2480)
The controller, access points and dispatch software are sized to your site and user numbers, so they're quoted as part of your system rather than boxed with the radio.
How the System Fits Together
- IP1100CV controller: Icom's current controller, recommended for new systems. It registers up to 300 radios, auto-provisions new radios as they join the network, and links sites over VPN. The power adaptor is sold separately.
- IP1000C controller: keeps track of every radio and manages individual, group and all-call traffic, for up to 100 radios (including IP100FS dispatch stations). It also works with third-party access points.
- VE-PG4 RoIP gateway: a gateway with a built-in controller for up to 50 radios, which can also link the system to IP phones and other analogue or digital radio systems, with a VPN function.
- AP-95M access point: Icom's IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac access point with Power over Ethernet. Third-party access points, including Ubiquiti, can also be used, so many sites can run the system on the network they already have.
- IP100FS PC dispatcher: turns a Windows PC into a radio on the system, with individual and group calls, text messages, and a map showing which access point each radio is connected to.
Already Running IP100H Radios?
The IP110H has taken over from the IP100H in Icom's NZ range, and Icom lists the two as compatible. That means an existing IP100H site can add IP110H radios, or replace ageing units one at a time, on the same controller. Talk to us about your current setup and we'll check what you need.
Complete Your Setup
Headsets, earpieces and spare chargers are quoted with your system. The optional VS-3 Bluetooth headset suits hotel and front-of-house staff who need to stay hands-free and discreet. Tell us how your team works and we'll match the audio accessories to it.

FAQs
Is the IP110H waterproof?
The IP110H is rated IP67, which means it's dust-tight and protected against immersion in 1 metre of water for 30 minutes. Icom has also tested it to MIL-STD-810G.
Do I need a radio licence to run this system?
You don't need an individual radio licence for this system. It runs over standard Wi-Fi frequencies on your own network, so there's no annual licence fee and no call charges once it's installed.
How long does the battery last?
The IP110H runs for more than 20 hours on a full charge, based on Icom's standard duty cycle. It charges by USB-C or on its charger stand, taking around 4 hours with the stand.
Who is this system best suited to?
It suits businesses with good Wi-Fi coverage that need instant voice between staff: warehouses, factories, hotels, hospitals, shopping centres and security teams. If your team works outdoors beyond your network, a conventional two-way radio is the better fit.
Will the IP110H work with my existing IP100H radios?
Yes, the IP110H works with existing IP100H radios. Icom lists it as compatible, so you can add new radios or replace old ones on the same system.
Will it work with our existing access points?
In many cases it will work with your existing access points. The IP110H works with third-party access points, including Ubiquiti, as well as Icom's own AP-95M. We'll check your network before quoting.
What happens if the Wi-Fi drops out?
If the Wi-Fi drops out, the radios lose contact, because the system is only as good as the network behind it. That's why we check your access point coverage before quoting, and recommend extra access points where there are gaps.
Does it work between separate buildings or sites?
It does work between separate sites, as long as the networks are linked by VPN. Staff in different buildings or towns can then talk as if they were on the same site.
How is this priced?
This system is priced by quote, because the number of radios, access points and controllers depends on your site. Get in touch and we'll size a system to fit.
