The Motorola MOTOTRBO R5 VHF LKP adds a display and limited keypad to Motorola's tough, compact R5, so users can see channel and status information and get to menus without a computer. AI-trained noise suppression keeps voices clear over machinery and crowds, and the IP67 build handles dust, rain and the odd dunking. VHF suits open country, farms, forestry and marine work, where VHF carries further across open ground. We program every R5 to your channel plan before it leaves our Mount Maunganui workshop.

Is the Motorola R5 VHF LKP waterproof?
The R5 VHF LKP is rated IP67, which means it's dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water. It's built for rain, mud and wash-down conditions on site.

Do I need a licence to use the R5 VHF in New Zealand?
You do need a licence. The R5 runs on licensed VHF frequencies, not the general user licence that covers UHF CB. We can arrange channel licensing and program the radio to your channel plan as part of the job.

How long does the R5 battery last?
The R5 runs for up to 32 hours on a charge, depending on the battery fitted and how heavily it's used. A spare PMNN4889 battery covers back-to-back shifts.

What's the difference between the R5 LKP and NKP?
The LKP adds a display and limited keypad, so users can see channel and status information and use the radio's menus. The NKP has no display or keypad, just a channel knob and push-to-talk, which suits users who only need to pick up and talk.

Does the R5 have GPS, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi?
The R5 sold in New Zealand doesn't include GPS, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, on either model. If you need those features, step up to the Motorola R7 or DP3661e.
