Frequently Asked Questions: Tait TP9560
Is the Tait TP9560 waterproof?
The TP9560 is rated IP65 and IP68 for dust and water, with a water-shedding speaker grille, and exceeds MIL-STD-810G for drops and harsh conditions. It's built for wet, dusty NZ worksites.
Do I need a licence to use the TP9560 in New Zealand?
The TP9560 works on licensed land mobile frequencies, so you need a radio licence from Radio Spectrum Management (RSM). We handle licensing and channel programming for you.
How long does the TP9560 battery last?
TP9560 battery life depends on how much you transmit, which mode you run and features like Bluetooth and WiFi. This listing ships with a 3300mAh Li-Ion battery. Talk to us about the right setup and a spare for long shifts.
Should I choose the helical or whip antenna?
Choose the helical for a compact radio that's easy to wear in vehicles and tight spaces. Choose the whip if range matters more, such as on large sites or at the edge of coverage.
How is the TP9560 different from the TP9360?
Both have a full 16-key keypad. The TP9560 adds a colour screen, a 3W loudspeaker with dual-mic noise cancelling, and WiFi programming. They share Tait TP9000 batteries, chargers and audio accessories.
Is the TP9560 digital or analogue?
The TP9560 supports DMR Tier 2 and Tier 3, MPT1327 and analogue FM, so it can run alongside older analogue radios while you move to digital.
Does the TP9560 come with a charger?
The TP9560 doesn't include a charger. Add the single bay charger or the 6 bay charger for a team.
