Starlink Business plans (Local Priority)
Business plans give your traffic priority on the network, which is what keeps EFTPOS, cloud software and video calls steady when the local area gets busy. You choose a tier by how much priority data you need each month and how many people rely on it.

Once a plan uses its monthly priority allocation, it continues on standard, unprioritised data rather than stopping. On a busy network that means slower speeds until the next cycle, which is exactly why the right tier matters for a business that leans on the connection all day.
Mobile and marine use
Vehicles, vessels and temporary worksites need a Mobile (Roam) or Maritime plan and the high-performance flat dish, which is built and warranted for in-motion use. A standard dish on a mobile plan is not supported and can void warranty. Because these plans are priced by use and hardware, get in touch for a current quote rather than assuming the fixed-site figures above apply.
What Affects Your Plan Choice
- Fixed vs mobile use: a permanently installed site has different needs, and different hardware, than a vehicle or vessel moving between coverage areas.
- Priority data needs: operations running EFTPOS, cloud software or video calls benefit from priority tiers that hold speeds steady when the network is busy.
- Number of users and devices: a busy office with staff working at once needs more consistent throughput than a single remote worker.
- Backup vs primary connection: a backup-only link can often run on a lower tier than a business's sole internet source.
Business vs Residential Plans
Standard Residential is the most cost-effective option and works well for many small operations, farms and remote sites where the odd peak-hour slowdown is an acceptable trade-off. The Local Priority business plans cost more, but they earn it where a dropped or slow connection has a genuine operational cost: EFTPOS processing, safety-critical communications, or client-facing video calls.
The honest read: most small businesses and rural properties are well served by Standard Residential. Step up to a Local Priority tier specifically when peak-hour congestion would cause a real problem, and size the tier to your user count rather than reaching for the top plan by default.
