Lightweight Behind-the-Head Headset (CRS-LWHSB Series)
Choose your connector: this headset is available fitted with either CRS's S2 connector (Icom two-pin, final stock, CRS has discontinued this connector) or the T1 connector (Tait multipin, current production). Pick the option that matches your radio before ordering: the wrong connector simply won't seat.
The CRS Lightweight Behind-the-Head Headset is a discreet, comfortable option for anyone who needs to stay on the radio without pulling a bulky headset on and off all day. It sits under a hard hat or helmet without fuss, with a robust in-line PTT and a flexible boom mic that picks up clearly without constant repositioning.
Icom 2-Pin (S2): fits Icom's IC-F3G, IC-F3GS, IC-F3GT, IC-F4G, IC-F4GS, IC-F4GT, IC-F43GS, IC-F43GT, IC-F43TR, IC-F11, IC-F11S, IC-F21, IC-F21S and IC-F31 portables. CRS has discontinued this connector option; MSL is selling remaining stock only.
Tait Multipin (T1): fits Tait's TP3000, TP7110, TP8110, TP8115, TP8120, TP8135, TP8140, TP9300, TP9400, TP9500, TP9600 and TP9700 portables. This is CRS's current production connector.
If you're not certain which connector your radio uses, ask us to confirm before ordering.
Key Features
- Inline PTT with a 2.5mm jack means you can add optional finger control later without buying a new headset.
- Replaceable earpad and microphone foam cover mean the headset keeps performing after daily wear, instead of getting binned the moment a pad wears out.
- Ergonomic behind-the-head design means it sits comfortably under a hard hat or helmet all shift, for site workers who can't take PPE off to talk.
- Kevlar-reinforced PU cable means the lead shrugs off the pulls and knocks of a working site.
- Discreet, low-profile build means it stays out of the way for customer-facing roles and safety-conscious environments.
- Flexible boom microphone means clear pickup without constantly having to reposition it.
- 1 year warranty means genuine backing on build quality, not just the radio it's plugged into.
Applications
- Construction and site work under hard hats or helmets
- Film, TV and live event production
- Light industrial and warehouse teams
- Security and site patrols

We don't yet stock genuine CRS spares or the optional finger PTT for this headset as standalone products, so there's nothing accurate to recommend here yet rather than guess at a link.

FAQs
Is this headset durable enough for daily site use?
Yes, it's built for it: a Kevlar-reinforced cable, a robust in-line PTT rated to 100,000 cycles, and a replaceable earpad and mic foam cover so daily wear and tear doesn't mean buying a whole new unit.
Do I need a license to use this headset?
No, the headset itself doesn't need its own license. It simply connects to a radio you're already licensed to operate, so your existing radio licence covers it.
Which connector do I need, S2 or T1?
Choose S2 if you're running an Icom IC-F3G, F3GS, F3GT, F4G, F4GS, F4GT, F43GS, F43GT, F43TR, F11, F11S, F21, F21S or F31. Choose T1 if you're running a Tait TP3000, TP7110, TP8110, TP8115, TP8120, TP8135, TP8140, TP9300, TP9400, TP9500, TP9600 or TP9700. If your model isn't listed, get in touch and we'll confirm the right connector before you order.
Can I add finger-operated PTT later?
Yes, the in-line PTT has a 2.5mm jack for CRS's optional Finger PTT accessory. We don't stock that spare yet ourselves, but flag it to us if you want one sourced.
Who is this headset designed for?
Anyone who needs to stay on the radio under a hard hat or helmet without a bulky setup: construction crews, event and film production teams, and light industrial or security staff are the main users.
