Is the BP512 waterproof?
The standard model carries an IP54 rating, meaning it's built to handle rain, dust, and general trade site conditions. If you need protection against temporary submersion, an IP67-rated option is available, just let us know when ordering.

Do I need a licence to use this radio?
Yes. Whether you choose the UHF or VHF version, the BP512 operates on a licensed frequency, so you'll need a radio licence through Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) before use. We can talk you through what's involved.

How long does the battery last?
With the standard 1500mAh battery you'll get around 12 hours on analogue or 16 hours on digital. The optional 2400mAh battery extends this to around 18 hours analogue or 26 hours digital.
