Overview

The Icom IC-F1000S is a compact, waterproof VHF handheld radio designed for rugged environments, including construction, event security, councils, and field operations. Built to IP67 standards, it withstands immersion in 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes and is completely dust-tight, ideal for wet, dirty, and unpredictable work conditions.

Despite its slim 24.5mm profile, this radio packs serious capability: a clear LCD screen, 128-channel capacity, secure voice scrambler, and loud 800mW audio for clear communication even in high-noise areas. A built-in motion sensor supports man down, lone worker, and emergency alerts, improving worker safety. It's also compatible with MDC1200 signalling, ideal for fleets requiring status messaging, PTT ID, or remote stun/revive functionality.

Easy to use radio earset

They do what they say they do, easy to use and no extra gear. The main set is the master and needs to be used, just turn them on with charged batteries and they just work. We have tested them to about 400m but really only need them for up to about 100m max and they work really well, easy to hear everyone using them. Once they are on you just talk and listen, there are no buttons to push
We use the single ear so we can hear people not using the sets.
