Overview
The Logic Connect fleet management platform now supports the monitoring of non-powered assets. Now integrated with the Digital Matter Oyster3 device, a low-power GPS tracker capable of providing up to 10 years battery life (when using recommended AA batteries). Attaching the device to assets provides visibility of their current location, while the built-in accelerometer detects movement over a set threshold, alerting you that your asset is on the move.

Default Configuration
- GPS updates sent every 6 hours (heartbeat), non-movement
- GPS update on trip start, greater than 250m
- In-trip GPS update every 10 minutes
- GPS update on trip end
Different configurations can be set depending on customer preference, including frequency of GPS updates based on time or movement. Increased frequency of GPS updates will impact battery life.
Batteries
The Oyster3 uses 3x AA batteries. We recommend high performance Lithium Thionyl Chloride (LTC) batteries which, based on default configuration, provide an estimated life of 6.5-10 years. Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries can also be used, with an estimated battery life of approximately 4-7 years.
