Ocean Signal RescueME PLB1 – NZ Registered
PLB | World's Smallest PLB | 7-Year Battery
MSL's most compact personal locator beacon. 30% smaller by volume than earlier PLBs and easily fits in a lifejacket, giving the reassurance that emergency services can be alerted at the press of a button, wherever you are at sea or on land.
Ocean Signal RescueME PLB1 Overview
The Ocean Signal RescueME PLB1 can be operated single-handed even in the most challenging situations. A simple spring-loaded flap covers the activation button, preventing inadvertent use while keeping deployment fast when it matters.
The PLB1 works with the only officially recognised worldwide dedicated search and rescue satellite network, operated by Cospas-Sarsat. As this is funded by governments, there are no charges to use this service. When activated, the PLB1 transmits your position and ID to a Rescue Coordination Centre via satellite link, with rescue services promptly notified and regularly updated on your current location.
Key Features
- 30% smaller by volume means it's genuinely easy to carry every day, for anyone who wants a beacon they'll actually have on them when it matters.
- 66-channel GPS receiver means accurate location data is sent to the Rescue Coordination Centre, for faster search and rescue response.
- Retractable antenna means a compact stowed profile with full performance when deployed, for everyday carry without a protruding antenna.
- 7-year battery life, 7-year warranty means long-term reliability with minimal maintenance, for anyone who wants to buy once and largely forget about it.
- High-brightness strobe light (>1 candela) means better visibility for rescuers in low light, for search teams operating at night.
- Spring-loaded activation flap means the button is protected from accidental activation while still fast to deploy, for genuine emergencies.
- Unique mounting clip and flotation pouch means it's easy to attach to a lifejacket or pack and floats if dropped in water, for boaties and trampers alike.
