Boundlessly enduring protection for the toughest forestry work
Available in 8 colours, including two hi-vis combinations, to suit any Bay of Plenty forestry crew.
Overview
The Protos Integral Forest was developed specifically for forestry work, where branches and other obstacles are very likely to catch on a standard helmet's fittings. Every component, including the visor and hearing protection, is integrated into the shell itself, so nothing protrudes and nothing gets caught.
It's certified to AS/NZ1801-2024 and EN397 Industrial Safety Helmet standard, and ships with PROTOS Hearing Protection (EN352-3) and a Metal Visor (EN1731) included as standard, not as an optional extra.
Key Features
- Integral Solution design means the visor, hearing protection, and every other component sit inside the helmet shell, so there's nothing to catch on branches, bushes, or other obstacles.
- Included hearing protection and metal visor means a forestry crew is fully kitted out from the box, with no separate accessories to source or fit.
- 2-colour design means increased visibility in dense bush and low light, helping crews keep track of each other on site.
- Profound neck shell means the back of the head stays protected in the event of an impact or a fall.
- Ventilation gate means better wear comfort through long days, while doubling as an additional bumper that absorbs force before it reaches the main shell.
- AS/NZ1801-2024 and EN397 industrial certification, alongside the included EN352-3 hearing protection and EN1731 visor, means the helmet meets the standard NZ forestry work requires without needing extra sign-off on accessories.
- A serialised build date under the brim, with a 5-year service life from date of sale means site safety officers can track exactly when each helmet needs replacing.

- Any job where branches, bush, or overhead debris are a snagging risk

FAQs
Is this helmet rated for NZ forestry work?
Yes, the Protos Integral Forest is certified to AS/NZ1801-2024 and EN397 Industrial Safety Helmet standard, with hearing protection and a visor included as standard, both independently certified to EN352-3 and EN1731.
Does it come with hearing protection and a visor?
Yes, unlike the base Industry model, the Forest helmet ships with both a metal visor and hearing protection included, ready to use straight out of the box.
How long does the helmet last before it needs replacing?
Service life is 5 years from the date of sale, not the manufacture date. Each helmet has a serialised build date stamped under the brim to help track this.
What sizes does it fit?
It's a one-size helmet, adjustable from 54cm to 62cm.
Can I add lighting or other accessories later?
Yes, the Integral Solution design means lighting and other genuine Protos accessories can be clipped onto the same shell as the job requires.
