The RFI CD28-37-73 is a broadband VHF Mopole antenna delivering a genuine 3dB improvement over a standard 1/4-wave whip. Supplied with MBC base and a 5m RG58C/U cable already fitted.

Overview

The CD28-37-73 is a Ground Independent Mopole antenna covering 138–163MHz, ideal for "alternative" mounting positions such as gutter, mirror, or trunk mounts where a full ground plane isn't available.

Using a patented matching circuit, it's an end-fed dipole combining a durable thermoplastic housing with a flexible tapered stainless steel whip resistant to knocks and bends. Field testing shows a 3dB improvement in received signal level compared with a 1/4-wave whip (pattern testing shows 1.5-2dB, equivalent to 1.5-2dBi), thanks to a lower radiation angle from the ground independent design.

This version comes pre-terminated with a 5m length of 8058 RG58C/U cable, so there's no separate cable to source.
