Extreme Range Radar Detection with Auto Mute Memory and GPS
The Uniden R4NZ builds on the R3NZ with an all new platform, a faster processor, and dual Low Noise Amplifiers for even greater range. Its Auto Mute Memory feature automatically locks out false alert locations, and Bluetooth connectivity means it can pair with Uniden's companion app for on the fly adjustments.
Uniden has confirmed a firmware update for the R4NZ adding average speed camera zone alerts and improved mobile speed camera detection, so it is set up to keep getting better over time. If you specifically want directional arrows and dual antenna threat direction, look at the R8NZ instead.
Key Features
- Dual Low Noise Amplifier design means extended detection range compared with the R3NZ.
- Auto Mute Memory means the R4NZ automatically locks out known false alert locations, cutting down nuisance alerts trip after trip.
- Built in GPS with red light and speed camera alerts, on the NZ database, means fixed cameras are covered as well as live radar signals.
- Bluetooth connectivity means you can pair with a compatible app to adjust settings without touching the unit.
- Advanced K/Ka Band filtering means fewer false alerts from other vehicles' blind spot monitors and collision systems.
- Ultra bright multi colour OLED display means speed, voltage, altitude, and time are always easy to read.
- Auto dim and Quiet Ride mean the display and alerts adjust automatically for calmer city driving.
- Single and double suction mounts plus carrying case included mean flexible fitment across vehicles.

FAQ
Is it legal to use a radar detector in New Zealand? Yes, radar detectors are legal to own and use in New Zealand.
What does Auto Mute Memory actually do? It remembers GPS locations where you have muted a false alert before, and automatically quietens the same alert there in future, so genuine threats stand out.
Do I need a smartphone to use the R4NZ? No, it works fully as a standalone detector. Bluetooth pairing with the app is optional, for those who want extra control.
Should I get the R4NZ or R8NZ? Choose the R4NZ for strong range, GPS, and Auto Mute Memory at a lower price. Choose the R8NZ if you specifically want directional arrows telling you whether a threat is ahead, behind, or to the side.
