The Problem With Standard Hearing Protection
Most workers have a genuine need to communicate with colleagues throughout a shift, but traditional hearing protection headsets restrict that ability by design. Standard earmuffs and plugs block sound indiscriminately, which means they block the conversations, warnings, and alarms a worker genuinely needs to hear, not just the harmful noise.
Workers need a solution that provides the correct level of hearing protection while still allowing them to communicate and maintain situational awareness. That is the specific gap Sensear was built to close.
How SENS® Technology Actually Works
Sensear's Smart Communication Headsets let workers hold seamless face-to-face conversations, talk headset-to-headset over two-way radios, or connect via Bluetooth-enabled devices with other workers nearby, all while protecting their hearing with industrial-quality noise-suppression and maintaining 360° awareness of approaching vehicles, alarms, or other hazards.
Noise suppression is achieved with dual or quad omnidirectional microphones, which pull in audio signals, noise, speech, alarms, and so on, from the surrounding environment. Those signals are sent to a digital signal processor running algorithms that separate and suppress background noise, isolating and enhancing speech so a wearer can hear and be heard clearly regardless of the noise around them.
Choosing the Right Sensear Headset
Mobile Systems stocks a range of Sensear headsets suited to noisy, high-noise, and extreme-noise workplaces.
SM1P2
The flagship model, with Bluetooth, direct radio connection, and short-range headset-to-headset FM mode. See our full SM1P2 guide for the complete feature set.
SM1R
Radio-powered, drawing from the connected radio rather than its own battery, making it lighter for extended wear.
SM1B
Battery-powered with broader radio compatibility, suited to longer or multiple shifts.
EX Variants
Intrinsically safe versions of the SM1P2 range are available for hazardous, potentially explosive atmospheres.
Which model suits your team depends on your noise environment, whether you need intrinsic safety certification, and what radio and other PPE your crew is already using. Browse our full Sensear range, or get in touch for advice matched to your specific site.
