Who This Radio Is For
The DT885FF is the only radio in the Entel range carrying both ATEX and MED (Marine Equipment Directive) certification, making it the correct choice for onboard firefighting teams on MED-regulated vessels. The MED approval matters because standard ATEX certification covers hazardous atmospheres but does not satisfy the separate marine equipment compliance that shipping inspectors check. NZ operators on SOLAS-class vessels, offshore supply vessels and port fire response teams should specify this model rather than the standard DT885M, which carries ATEX but not MED. Loud audio output is engineered for engine rooms and open decks where machinery noise makes standard radio volume unusable.
