Tait TP9555 UHF1 DMR Portable Radio, 4 Keys, 380-470MHz

Colour screen, louder audio and smart connectivity, built Tait Tough.

Best seller: Black / Helical / No DMR Trunking, the standard configuration most fleets order. Choose the whip antenna for extra range, Hi-Viz colours for visibility, or the DMR Trunking (TPAS080) option for DMR Tier 3 trunked networks.

Overview

The Tait TP9555 is the four-key model in the TP9500 range, adding a high-resolution colour screen, a 3W loudspeaker and dual-mic noise cancelling to Tait's proven DMR platform. It runs DMR Tier 2 and Tier 3, MPT1327 and analogue FM, with Bluetooth, WiFi programming and GPS built in.

This listing is the UHF1 (380-470MHz) version, with your choice of a compact helical or a longer-range whip antenna. It's rated IP65 and IP68 for dust and water and exceeds MIL-STD-810G.

Key Features

  • Colour screen and four-key keypad means clear menus and channel control at a glance, for crews working in bright light or at night.
  • 3W speaker with dual-mic noise cancelling means messages get through over machinery and wind, for construction, roading and plant operators.
  • DMR, MPT1327 and analogue FM means it runs alongside your existing radios while you move to digital, for fleets on mixed networks.
  • WiFi programming means channel and setting updates without handling every radio, for fleet managers running large teams.
  • GPS, Bluetooth and iBeacon support means location reporting and wireless audio accessories, for safety-focused and hands-free users.
  • Man Down, Lone Worker and emergency key means help can be raised fast, for staff working alone or in hazardous areas.
  • Helical or whip antenna option means you choose compact carry or extra range, for users on tight sites or at the edge of coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions: Tait TP9555

Is the Tait TP9555 waterproof?

The TP9555 is rated IP65 and IP68 for dust and water, with a water-shedding speaker grille, and exceeds MIL-STD-810G for drops and harsh conditions. It's built for wet, dusty NZ worksites.

Do I need a licence to use the TP9555 in New Zealand?

The TP9555 works on licensed land mobile frequencies, so you need a radio licence from Radio Spectrum Management (RSM). We handle licensing and channel programming for you.

How long does the TP9555 battery last?

TP9555 battery life depends on how much you transmit, which mode you run and features like Bluetooth and WiFi. This listing ships with a 3300mAh Li-Ion battery. Talk to us about the right setup and a spare for long shifts.

Should I choose the helical or whip antenna?

Choose the helical for a compact radio that's easy to wear in vehicles and tight spaces. Choose the whip if range matters more, such as on large sites or at the edge of coverage.

How is the TP9555 different from the TP9355?

The TP9555 adds a colour screen, a 3W loudspeaker with dual-mic noise cancelling, and WiFi programming. Both use four-key control and share Tait TP9000 batteries, chargers and audio accessories. For a full keypad, choose the TP9560.

Is the TP9555 digital or analogue?

The TP9555 supports DMR Tier 2 and Tier 3, MPT1327 and analogue FM, so it can run alongside older analogue radios while you move to digital.

Does the TP9555 come with a charger?

The TP9555 doesn't include a charger. Add the single bay charger or the 6 bay charger for a team.
